Safeguarding Policy
Providing a safe and respectful training environment is our first priority at London Grapple.
Outlined below are the key measures we’ve put in place to ensure London Grapple members can have their issues and/or concerns addressed, should the need ever arise.
1 - Coaches and Owners
Minor instances can often be dealt with on the spot, and as such, we encourage members to speak to whomever is teaching the class. Failing that, Ross and Aidan should be the first point of contact for any issues which arise at the club. Both can be contacted via info@londongrapple.co.uk
2 - Safeguarding Officer
We have designated JP Attlee as the gym's safeguarding officer. JP has experience in the legal world - through his day job as a senior associate at a global law firm - and is on hand for any member who wishes to escalate or discuss anything with someone who regularly visits London Grapple that are not a staff member.
Please note, JP is not in a position to provide legal advice to members, nor does he act on behalf of London Grapple’s legal interests. He is a trusted member within our gym for individuals to go to should they not be comfortable raising an issue with the LG coaches and owners. JP’s contact details are jpattlee@gmail.com
3 - Third Party Contact
For anyone who would prefer to contact someone outside of the club, we have arranged for Helene Almas - a lawyer who has never participated in martial arts - to be available for people to email or speak to. Note that Helene will not be providing legal advice, but will be well placed to help decide best next steps on anything raised. Helene's contact details are helene.almas@gmail.com
If you’d like to discuss any of these items further with a member of staff, feel free to reach out to us here.
