Ross Nicholls

Head Coach: BJJ Gi & No Gi
BJJ Rank: Black Belt (2014)

Originally from Wales, Ross was introduced to the world of grappling through his good friends the Cox brothers.

Leaving Wales one year into his BJJ training to study biomedical science in London, Ross continued his training under Cesar Lima (RGA / Grand Union).

London eventually became his permanent home and in 2014 Ross received his Black Belt from Cesar Lima and Roger Gracie. Ross remained training and coaching at RGA / Grand Union until mid-2021 when London Grapple was launched.

As a competitor coming up through the coloured belts and early into his black belt career, Ross actively competed on the IBJJF Gi and No Gi circuit.

In 2017, after a close match with Oliver Taza on the Polaris Professional Stage, he decided to concentrate on the no gi game.

Since then, he’s become the ADCC European Champion, a 3x Polaris Superfight winner, IBJFF No Gi British National Champion and the 2019 #5 Ranked (77KG) No Gi grappler in the world (Flograppling).

In recent years he has become known to a wider world audience as a submission ace with wins over Mateusz Gamrot, Mateusz Szczecinski, Gianni Grippo, Nathan Orchard, Darragh O’Conaill and many others.

Ross remains active as a competitor on the UK and European No Gi competition circuits.
