Ed Dingley

BJJ Rank: Brown Belt (2022)

Ed was born in Cambridge where he spent his early childhood years. After a period, his family relocated to South Manchester for the remainder of his childhood.

Throughout his school years, Ed became heavily involved with sports, particularly rugby and cricket, alongside his further studies in music. This interest eventually took him to London to study a Bachelor of Music at Goldsmiths College. It is at university where Ed stumbled across a jiu jitsu society, he jumped at the opportunity to try the sport and has not looked back since.

During his studies, Ed would spend time in London during the academic year, and time at home in Manchester outside of this. He found a BJJ home in Manchester at Factory BJJ, where he was awarded his blue belt by head instructor Adam Adshead in 2018. While in London, Ed trained at Carpe Diem BJJ London.

Upon finishing his studies, Ed accepted a position on the coaching staff at Carpe Diem. During his tenure, he was awarded his purple belt (2020) and brown belt (2022) by head instructor Tsuyoshi Tamaki.

In January 2024, Ed joined the London Grapple team in an assistant manager & coaching role.
